About Me

So if you have just stumbled across this blog then I will tell you a bit about myself.  I'm 27, originally from Alberta, Canada.  I have a 9 year old daughter that I had right after I graduated high school.  I was never one to wind up as a statistic and so when my daughter turned one I moved 2 hours away to go to college.  After 2 years I transferred to another school 6 hours away and finished up my Marketing Degree there.  During that time I definitely learned a lot about myself. It was hard raising a daughter by myself, going to school, and being 6 hours away from my home and family.

During that time I met an amazing man named Edward, he was amazing, his only downside was that he lived in New Jersey!  We dated long distance style for a while, he proposed, I accepted, and as soon as I was done university I picked up everything and moved to New Jersey to be with him and start my new life.  Thats the short version, lol.  Dating long distance is really hard, but we worked at it.  We talked on the phone everyday, sent each other care packages, and had movie date nights where we would both rent the same movie and watch it together while we were on the phone.

Anyways, I moved to New Jersey, we got married in a sweet little backyard wedding during the summer. Specifically, on Canada day! I thought it was a nice touch.

In May of 2009 we had our daughter Lily and our life was really starting to get busy.  We decided to buy a house that summer and after a couple months of looking, we put in an offer on a real fixer upper.  Right when we were in the process of buying the house I found out that my mom had stage IV breast cancer that had spread to her bones.  It was a very stressful time, a baby, my older daughter in a new school, my mom was sick, the house was a wreck.  I was really depressed from it all, which caused me and Eddie to start arguing, a lot.  That fall I flew to Canada to see my mom for 2 weeks and when I got back things seemed to be a lot better.

The next summer we all flew to Canada to see my mom for a couple weeks and when we got back I found out I was pregnant again.  Whoops!  Part of this blog is an imported blog about my pregnancy.  Anyways, we found out we were having a boy this time and in March of 2011 we welcomed him into this world. Now we are just happy with the way our family is.

Since then we have been working on our house, I've been loosely trying to lose the baby weight I gained from these last two pregnancies, and really just enjoying life together.  My mom just passed away this past August from her cancer and I am really working on accepting it even though it just seems like a bad dream.

Here are some pictures from over the years.
